Borrello Beef is seeking experienced slaughterers to join our team based in Gingin, WA. These are long-term roles, offering wages of over $120,000pa. These positions offer an immediate start, and great long-term opportunities on the beef slaughter floor.

You will be required to carry out various tasks including but not limited to:

• Humane Slaughter: Ensuring the beef are stunned and killed in a humane manner, following industry standards and regulations.

• Slaughter process: Performing tasks such as bleeding, skinning, and removing internal organs.

• Carcass Preparation: Preparing the carcass for further processing, including splitting, quartering, and de-boning.

• Meat Processing: Assisting with the cleaning and trimming of the meat.

• Equipment Operation: Operating and maintaining specialised equipment used in the slaughter and processing of beef.

• Safety: Following strict safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment. 

As well as being capable of the above all applicants will also need to meet the following to be considered for these roles.

• Have previous experience in various aspects of abattoir work, in particular legging

• Have your own reliable transport

• Be able to start at 5.30am and work full time hours

• Be physically fit as work is labour intensive

• Be willing to travel to Gingin or live locally, we may be able to assist with accommodation

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Livestock HC Driver

• Current HC driver’s licence and a proven safe driving record

• Current commercial drivers medical

• Current fatigue management

• Strong communication and customer service skills

• Be capable of manual handling and be physically fit

• Be able to start early (from 4:30am)

Duties include but not limited to:

• Temperature monitoring.

• Process monitoring of boning room, chillers and freezers to ensure compliance to Export Meat Standards.

• Some cleaning duties.

• General hygiene monitoring.

• Meat hygiene assessments.

You will need:

• HACCP/Meat industry knowledge is an advantage (But not essential as training will be provided)

• The ability to work in a fast paced team environment

• High level of attention to detail is a must

• Strong communication skills

• Your own reliable transport

• To be on site at 5.00am

To be successful for this role you will be:
